Hi,
I am connecting an encoder to the kanalog board I have a+,a-,b+,b-,index+,index- connected and would like to know what I do next to be able to see it count and on what screens and if it can also be seen on the kmotion cnc. I also have +5 volts on the encoder.

You should be able to bring up the Axis Screen to observe the encoder positions. An Axis needs to be configured to read an encoder but by default all the Axes are configured as encoder input and to use the Encoder channel of the same number as the Axis Channel. (Axis 0 uses Encoder 0)
